Ossian (IN) Norwell OT Curtis Blackwell is almost finished with his summer camp circuit and getting set to focus on a pivotal senior campaign.
With things winding down this summer (only one more scheduled camp - at Michigan State), Blackwell can focus more on his recruiting. Recently he narrowed his list down to three schools - Toledo, Bowling Green and Ball State.
"They (Ball State) have what I want to study which is construction management and the new coaching staff is great," Blackwell said of why he lists Ball State so high. "They are going to turn the program around."
The 6-5 305 OT has visited Ball State before and plans to make another stop in Muncie this weekend.
"Yeah a couple times and they have been great," Blackwell said of his visits to Ball State. "I will be going back down on Saturday as well."
Aside from recruiting, Blackwell is focused on a senior season in which he hopes to help his Norwell Vikings back from a disappointing 1-9 season last season.
"Yeah it's going to be a big year," he said. "We have a new head coach (Josh Gerber) and I feel he's really changing things around for the good of the team, and as a team our goal is to really be better than last year and play together as a whole and hopefully win a lot of games. Another goal we have as always is to make it as far as we can in the playoffs once that time comes."
