Cardinals offer Indiana Tight End

Ball State the fifth offer for one of the top TEs in Indiana in the Class of 2017

The distance from Hamilton Heights High School to Ball State is not much, only a short hour long drive separates Huskie TE Sterling Weatherford and his latest offer.

"I love the staff, the program and all the new facilities," Weatherford said. "I am super excited about the offer and I am going up to visit this Thursday."

Weatherford, a 6-4 205 TE, is a multiple sport athlete that also excels on the hardwood. His growing 6-4 frame has already bulked up 10 pounds from last season while maintaining his 4.5 speed. Weatherford camped at Ball State recently and impressed the coaching staff.

"Camp was good," Weatherford said. "The coaches were impressed with what I did there. I got the offer about a week later."

Weatherford holds other offers from Miami (OH), North Dakota, Western Illinois and Davidson and brings a lot of talent and athleticism to the tight end position.

"I bring vocal leadership," Weatherford said of his game. "I am a mismatch for defenses with my speed at TE. I also bring physicality and athleticism."
