Cardinals Pick Up Kentucky DE

Ball State added one of the top DE prospects in the State of Kentucky late last week.

Bowling Green (KY) South Warren DE Zach Haynes has known for a while that Ball State could be his best option for college, but it wasn't until he visited the campus that the feeling was solidified.

"It was toward the end of June during the Super Saturday event," Haynes said regarding his visit to Muncie. "I toured the school and facilities and watched film with the staff. I really enjoyed it. I really loved everything about it. It is a great school with a great football program. I really liked the coaches and I feel like I will fit well in their 4-3 scheme."

Haynes was not without options either. The 6-3 255 DE held offers from Appalachian StateArmyEastern MichiganNavy, Southeast Missouri, Southern Illinois and Wofford. In the end though, it was Ball State and the Cardinal coaching staff that was where he felt the most comfortable.

"It feels great," Haynes said. "It's been a long process and I am very confident in my decision."

The Cardinals are getting a top talent in Haynes, an athletic DE with great size. Not to mention a solid dunker. Haynes wants Cardinal Nation to know he is excited to be suiting up in Muncie.

"Just that I'm looking forward to the next 4 years representing Ball State"
