Pennsylvania LB Enjoyed Unofficial Visit

Ball State received an unofficial visit from one of their top out of state targets this weekend.

Erie (PA) Cathedral Prep LB Jerry Roberts was one of the most high profile unsigned Class of 2017 visitors this past weekend at Ball State and he came away impressed with what he saw.

"It was amazing the coaching staff made me feel loved," Roberts said. "The facility is one of the best I've seen. What stood out for me on the visit is that the coaches were real and the locker room and team film room was outstanding. I also loved the weight room and the Cardinal Walk was amazing."

The 6-1 230 LB currently holds offers from Air Force, Maine, Central Connecticut State and several other and he talked with the Cardinal Coaching staff about the possibility of adding one from Ball State.

"They said there's a good chance that I could get one but they wanted  to get to know me as a person a little bit before they make any moves." Roberts said. "Also (LB) Coach (Johnny) Curtis is coming by my practice to watch me move around and then they said they'll go from there."

Despite the offers, 7 in total, Roberts states he has no official leader. He also is hoping more staffs take notice in what he brings to the field.

"I love the game of football and I put my all out there every time I step on that field." Roberts said. "In my eyes I bring intensity, physical toughness, leadership and most important I'm a coachable football player."
