Last Tuesday, Rhattigan took an opportunity to check in on one of the schools that offered him recently when he visited Ball State for their Tuesday nigh game.
"It was awesome," Rhattigan said. "I really enjoyed it. The visit was great I really enjoyed the facilities, meeting the staff, and seeing the campus. I would say the facilities stood out as well as the campus as a whole. Both were beyond expectations. The main coaches I talked to were Coach (MIke) Neu, Coach Kevin Lynch, Coach (Johnny) Curtis, Coach (Tim) Daoust, and Tilmon Clark, but I was able to meet just about everyone on the staff including the GAs."
Rhattigan, a senior from Naperville, IL (Neuqua Valley), also holds offers from Southern Illinois, Dartmouth & Princeton and is also started to get more attention from bigger schools along with his two recent offers.
"I couldn't be more excited with the way recruiting has picked up," Rhattigan said. "It feels great that teams are finally picking up on my skill set as a LB. I think the main thing that sparked teams is my size and physicality as well as just being a prospect out of the Chicagoland area in a well-respected conference. The DVC has turned out plenty of D1 players and will continue to do so."
Despite enjoying the Ball State visit as much as he did, Rhattigan is not tipping his hand on who his leaders are at this time.
"All the schools I have offers from as well as Army, Indiana, and Missouri State," Rhattigan said of his top schools. "At this time I have no favorites, but Ball State definitely left its mark and I will remain very interested in them."
