It has been a full year since Aaron Antoniou has been on a football field, but that hasn't stopped from the junior from making visits in hopes of earning a scholarship.
Antoniou, a 6-3 210 athletic LB, visited Ball State on Tuesday night for the Cardinals MACtion game against Eastern Michigan.
"I had a lot of fun and loved what I saw," Antoniou said. "The stadium and facilities are awesome, and the coaches were really hospitable. I talked with Coach (Mike) Neu, Coach (Kevin) Lynch, and Coach (Tilman) Clark. Coach Lynch invited me up, and I immediately noticed the energy of him and the rest of the coaches, as they prepared for the game."
Aside from his great experience at Ball State, Antoniou, who sat out this past season after transferring from Hinsdale (IL) Central to Montini Catholic, has made other visits and have a few more planned.
With a year away from football games, Antoniou has worked on what he can in practice, and continues to show the skills that coaches in college will certainly be looking for.
"Passion," Antoniou said of what his main skills are. "I'm more aggressive than any player on the field. Everyday sir, I would go to practice, ineligible to play due to the transfer, and challenge our best player in every drill and train myself to go up against the best and be the most aggressive, passionate football player on the field."
