It wasn't his first official offer, but it was the first from an FBS level school.
"It was definitely and honor, and I'm excited for the opportunity it presents," Naze said,. "I really want to thank Ball State for believing in me."
Naze, who also holds an offer from Illinois State, said he doesn't know a great deal about the Cardinals' football program but is excited with what he has heard.
"I didn't know much about the school but what I have heard has been nothing but the best," Naze said. "Football-wise I knew they are in the (Mid-American Conference) MAC which is a great conference. I haven't been on campus yet."
At 6-3 224, Naze fits the mold of a non-traditional TE, one that can split out, play in the slot or be used as a FB or H-Back.
"Well I'm being recruited as TE or H-back," Naze said of what he brings to the field. "I am a versatile player that can be in a three point stance and block one play, then split wide and catch a pass the next. I am a hard worker, and I believe that transfers over to field, and the program."
With two offers in hand, Naze plans on hitting a few college campuses (of the schools that he is hearing from) before he decides on what camps he hits this summer.
"I'm going down to Iowa this weekend and Minnesota on Tuesday," Naze said. "Other than that I'm talking to a few more Big Ten, MAC, and Ivy League schools."
