"Had a great time. I loved the coaches," Uetrecht said. "I got to talk to all of them. Coach (Patrick) Dougherty invited me. I liked the intensity the coaches showed in practice. Then when they talked to me they were nice and could tell they had a lot of passion for coaching and what's best for the kid and I loved that. Another thing was the campus was beautiful. It was very compact and everything was close to each other but it wasn't congested."
Uetrecht, a 6-2 220 LB, is just starting to take visits this spring and he plans to visit more schools before spring practices are over.
"That was the first spring game I have gone to this year," Uetrecht said. "I am going to Akron's spring practice this week or next week. I was invited to games last year by Purdue, Kentucky, Akron, and Cincinnati. Others that are recruiting me now are Davidson, and Wofford. I got invited to the Nike Opening on may 7 in Charlotte North Carolina and I am visiting Wofford during that time as well."
Uetretch has the size and skill, but that is not all that college coaches are, and should, be paying attention to with him.
"My biggest thing is my passion for the game and leadership, others just tend to follow me," Uetretch said. "I am versatile in the positions I can play. My football IQ is very good and what I don't have in physical attributes I make up in with my constant film study. Another thing is my work ethic I try to outwork everyone and when people see that it makes the team better."
