Cardinals QB honored

Sophomore quarterback Nate Davis (Bellaire, Ohio/Bellaire H.S.) of the Ball State football team has been named Mid-American Conference West Division Offensive Player of the Week for his efforts in a 41-40 loss Saturday at nationally ranked Nebraska.

The weekly honor is the first of Davis' career at BSU. Davis threw for a career-high 422 yards and three touchdowns. The 422 yards ranks as the third highest single-game total in Ball State's record books. Davis ran 14 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter to give the Cardinals a 17-14 edge over Nebraska, which entered the game ranked No. 22 by USA Today and No. 24 by the Associated Press.
