Orsbon visits Ball State

Crestview High School athlete Briggs Orsbon visited the campus of Ball State University for the Cardinals MAC game against Central Michigan. BallStateInsider.com caught up with Briggs to see how the visit went.

It was quite a weekend for Briggs Orsbon. The 6-0 185 WR/ATH from Crestview High School started off his busy weekend with a nice upset over Ada on Friday night. Ada, which is lead by Miami recruit QB Zac Dysert, was knocked out of the game with a thumb injury as his Ada team was defeated by Orsbon's squad Crestview 23-14. Orsbon, also playing QB, had a great hand in the defeat. Briggs ran for 235 yards and 3 touchdowns from his QB spot and also racked up an interception, a forced fumble, a fumble recovery and his first career sack.

"We stand at 4-3 on the season now," Briggs said. "And we need to win out to reach the playoffs."

After a night's sleep, Orsbon then headed to Muncie, IN to take in the Ball State vs. Central Michigan. And, despite the Cardinals loss, Briggs came away impressed.

"This weekend was my first official visit," Orsbon said. "Despite the lost to Central it was a good time. This is the third time that I have made the trip to Muncie, and my family and I learn a little bit more every time. I also got to spend a little time with some of the players on Saturday night, and that was a fun experience."

Orsbon also got the chance to meet another Cardinal recruit in Alex Daniel and the two immediately hit it off.

"Alex Daniel was the other recruit there on an official visit, and I got to learn a lot about him as well," Briggs said. "Daniel was a really cool guy, and I would definitely like to be suiting it up with him on Saturdays. I'm pretty sure he had a good time as well."

Despite all the fun and fan fair though, Orsbon still has more visits to make, including a return trip to Muncie, before he makes his decision.

"I have a visit to Bowling Green, Toledo, Purdue, and more than likely another one at Ball State (against Toledo)," Orsbon said. "My goal is to make a decision by the end of November, but I'll see what happens. I have 6 offers and my tops are Ball State, Akron, BG, and Toledo."
