Schneid getting looks from Ball State, others

One year ago, Adam Schneid was a skinny 230 OT, but thanks to some hard work and the help of specialized trainers, Schneid is now a 255 athlete who is wowing both college coaches at recruitniks alike. Fresh off of a first team mention on the Combine in Pittsburg as well as being named to the top 105 in the state of Ohio by Duane Long, caught up with Adam.

What a busy summer Adam Schneid is looking forward to having. The 6-5 255 OT from Avon Lake, OH is currently setting his schedule to hit camps at Ohio State, Akron, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Indiana, Ball State, Miami of Ohio, Ohio U. and possibly even Cincinnati and Marshall. But wait there is more . . .

"I will also be participating in the Elite training camp at Cleveland Browns Stadium and the Nike training camp in Columbus (Ohio)," Adam said. "I am also participating in track and have been working out at Speed Strength with the people who trained Ted Ginn Jr. and Lebron James."

Not only is Schneid busy with hitting the camp circuit, but he also is fielding opportunities to play with many division 1 schools.

"Most of the Big 10, the Big East and all the Mid-American Conference, even a few SEC programs like Kentucky and Vanderbilt," Schneid said when asked who he was hearing from. "I'd say Ball State, Central Michigan, Marshall, Indiana, Bowling Green and Akron are recruiting me the hardest."

And how do the Cardinals look for Adam?

"Ball State is a school I am very interested in," he said. "I have not made it up to visit yet but the coaches want me to make an one on one unofficial to have a meeting with them. I think I am doing that May 10th. I am really excited about it."

Adam doesn't have any offers . . . yet, but they will be coming at any time. In the meantime, Adam will just focus on what he wants in a school.

"Major Factors are academics and the coaching staff and how I relate to them<" Adam said. "Academics are really important to me."

So who would Adam say are his top five?

"Ball State, Central Michigan, Akron, Bowling Green and Indiana - not in any order." He said. "Marshall and Miami of Ohio are right up there with them to. I am open to everybody and I appreciate everyone who is showing interest."

Stay tuned to to see how Adam's senior season shapes up.
