Unknown Delta athletes getting attention

Dane Humphrey and Kyle Stevens are two relatively unknown prospects from a school nestled very close to the campus of Ball State, that are getting interest per their coach Grant Zgunda.

Dane Humphrey is a 6-5 230 OT who is noteworthy in that he is not only a 3-sport athlete, but also is the Eagles' starting SS on the baseball field.

"Dane plays football, basketball and baseball," Zgunda said. "He is a very good athlete for his size."

Per Zgunda, Humphrey is getting interest from several Mid American Conference, Big Ten and Gateway Conference teams, especially nearby Ball State which is just a short distance from Delta, which sits just outside of the city limits of Muncie, IN.

Kyle Stevens, a 6-1 220 FB/LB prospect, is also getting plenty of interest per Zgunda.

"Kyle has been recruited since he has started on both sides of the ball since his freshman season," Zgunda said.

Zgunda, who has coached several former Division 1 athletes (including former Cardinals Joey Lynch and Brad Wilson and current Cardinal Dane Cook) also points to the kids' character as reasons he believes colleges will soon be offering.

"I highly recommend both of these young men," he said. "They are two of the best players I have ever coached in my 16 years as a head coach."
