Martin makes 10 for Ball State

Another "under the radar" prospect committed to Ball State on Tuesday making it 10 verbal commitments before the high school season even kicks off.

Tony Martin said he knew he was going to Ball State a week ago, he just wanted to make sure it was the right move.

Martin, a 6-1 210 LB from Park Hill, MO chose the Cardinals, his only offer to this point, after making his second visit recently.

"We moved my brother up to Michigan this past weekend," Martin said. "So my family and I made a stop by Ball State. It was my second trip there this summer. I guess I knew going in that I was wanting to go there, but I waited until today to tell the coaches."

Martin, who was also getting interest from Northern Illinois, Iowa, Vanderbilt, Missouri and Northwestern, says there was plenty to like about Ball State and Muncie, IN.

"The Coaching staff is phenomonal," Martin said. "Coach Brady Hoke is awesome. He is very involved in everything and coaches. You see other coaches at other schools that don't do much out on the field. He grilled me at camp when I was there and I really like the way he got after me. Plus I really like the school and the family atmosphere of the team and Muncie seems like a nice place as well."

Martin, who splits time at RB & OLB for his High School team can now focus his energy on his senior season and helping his teammates reach their collective goals.

"Our school doesn't have a very strong tradition really," Martin said. "We have done better the past few years, so our main goal is to win the district and get into the playoffs. I think it has been since the 1970's since we won the district. The ultimate goal, like everyone else, is to win the state though."

Stay tuned to as we track Tony's senior season.
