Baker tied a Ball State school record with three interceptions plus recovered one fumble and returned it 33 yards for a touchdown. In addition, he led Ball State with nine tackles and added one pass breakup. This marks the fifth year the Walter Camp Foundation distributes the weekly honors, and the recipients are selected by a panel of national media memers.

The Cardinals are 3-0 this season and 1-0 in the Mid-American Conference. This marks the best start of a season for a Ball State football team since the Cardinals were 5-0 to start the 1988 campaign. Ball State will play at Indiana Saturday in a 7 p.m. contest televised on the Big Ten Network, and return to Scheumann Stadium to host Kent State Sept. 27 in a noon Homecoming Game to be televised by ESPN Regional.
