Ball State to announce Class of 2009

The Ball State University football coaching staff will hold its annual Football Signing Day Celebration Wed., Feb. 4, at the Ball State Alumni Center, which is located adjacent to Scheumann Stadium.

The event is open to the public and there is no admission charge. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Complimentary hot dogs, snacks and Pepsi products will be available, along with a cash bar for interested persons.

First-year Ball State football head coach Stan Parrish will speak to the crowd and discuss the football team's 2009 recruiting class. He will also show a video presentation of the new recruits, release bios on the incoming freshmen and be available for a question and answer session.

This will also be the first opportunity to meet many of the new coaches on Ball State's 2009 coaching staff.

The Cardinals completed the 2008 season with a 12-2 overall record, while playing in a second consecutive bowl game for the first time in school history. Ball State, which advanced to the GMAC Bowl, made the school's first ever appearance in the Mid-American Conference Championship Game after winning the MAC West Division Championship.

Ball State will open the 2009 season Thurs., Sept. 3, vs. North Texas at Scheumann Stadium.
