The Ball State University football coaching staff will hold a coaches clinic April 3-4 at Scheumann Stadium. The clinic is open to all high school and youth league coaches.
The clinic will be a wonderful opportunity for coaches to learn from such experienced coaches as Ball State Head Coach Stan Parrish (former Kansas State and Marshall Head Coach as well as assistant coach for Michigan and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers), Ball State Defensive Coordinator Doug Graber (former head coach at Rutgers and in NFL Europe as well as Defensive Coordinator for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who also served several seasons as an NFL assistant) and Linebackers coach Jay Hood (who recently served as the Defensive Coordinator at Miami of Ohio). Also coaches Darryl Dixon (former Florida Gator player and assistant at Illinois), Offensive Coordinator Eddie Faulkner (player at Wisconsin and seasoned coach at Ball State), Joey Lynch (former Ball State QB), John Powers (OL coach at Ball State), D-Line Coach Phil Burnett (21 years of coaching experience including Oregon State), Jason Eck (former player and coach at Wisconsin), and Deion Melvin (former coach at Bowling Green and FCS powerhouse Georgia Southern) will be in attendance.
Cost of the clinic is $35 per coach or $150 for an entire staff. The clinic will begin Friday at 8:30 a.m. with registration. The presentations by the Ball State football coaching staff and some of the region's finest high school coaches will begin at 9 a.m. A lunch sponsored by the U.S. Army will be followed by individual position demonstrations of drills. Dinner will be provided Friday evening and feature keynote speaker Larry Kehres of Mount Union College. The clinic will continue Saturday at 9:30 a.m. and end with a Ball State football scrimmage at 1 p.m.
