Jerrett In No Hurry

Grant Jerrett, one of the top post prospects in the class of 2012, doesn't plan on making a college choice any time soon...

Grant Jerrett, 6-9 JR PF La Verne (Calif.) La Verne Lutheran, is a very skilled young post with terrific footwork and feel for the game. With continued development, he figures to be one of the elite prospects nationally in the class of 2012.

I spoke with Jerrett recently and asked him if he had a feel for which schools have been recruiting him the hardest to date.

"I'd say Arizona, UCLA, USC and UNLV have been recruiting me the hardest," said Jerrett.

Jerrett said he might take an unofficial visit to the local schools soon.

"I might take an unofficial visit to USC or UCLA in the next couple weeks," said Jerrett. "But we haven't set a date yet."

I asked Jerrett what he is looking for in a school.

"I'm just looking for the best situation, in terms of education, basketball, a great college life and experience," said Jerrett.

I asked Jerrett if early playing time or location will play a role in his decision.

"No, early playing time is not a big factor," said Jerrett. "And the location doesn't matter."

Jerrett isn't playing on making his decision in the near future.

"I'll probably decide early in my senior year," said Jerrett.

Jerrett said he has a 3.5 GPA.
