IU Strikes Again In 2014

Trey Lyles hasn't even played a game of high school basketball, but he knows where he wants to attend college. He made a Big Ten commitment on Sunday.

Word has been getting out about Trey Lyles.

A class of 2014 prospect at Indianapolis (Ind.) Tech, Lyles has built a strong reputation across the mid-west, as a number of schools brought him in for unofficial visits.

On Sunday the 6-foot-8, 195-pound power forward decided to end his recruitment early. Lyles gave Tom Crean and the Indiana Hoosiers a verbal commitment, according to a pair sources.

The story was confirmed by Kyle Neddenriep, of the Indy Star.

"I feel like this is the best situation for me," Lyles told the newspaper. "Coach (Tom) Crean is a family coach. He recruited not just me, but my whole family. That's what I liked about him and IU."

Lyles is the second member of the 2014 class to commit to Indiana. James Blackmon, a 6-foot freshman guard, has also pledged to play ball for the Hoosiers.
