Oglesby Announces At Press Conference

Josh Oglesby made his pick. The 2011 prospect is headed to the Big Ten.

After narrowing his college list to three schools -- Minnesota, Iowa and Arizona State -- Josh Oglesby announced his decision on Wednesday.

Oglesby, a 6-foot-5 shooting guard out of Cedar Rapids (Iowa) George Washington, opted for Iowa at a press conference at his school at 1:30 ET.

"I just grew up being a Hawkeye fan," Oglesby said. "Ever since they offered me I knew deep down that coach McCaffery would turn the program around. When I came back from the other two visits, I knew deep down that I wanted to be a Hawkeye."

Oglesby, a three-star prospect, said he built a strong relationship with their staff and that playing time played a role as well.

"They recruited me pretty hard and just their coaching staff seems like the right fit for me," he said. "I think I'll fit in to their style the best."

"Playing time my freshman is possible," Oglesby added. "At Minnesota and Arizona State it could have gone either way. I feel like coach McCaffery will get the program back to where it used to be."

Over the summer Oglesby, a three-star prospect, built his reputation as a knock down shooter playing for the Iowa Barnstormers.
