Done Deal: Hawgs Strike Again

John Pelphrey's equipment manager will need to be on his toes next season. The Razorbacks have five new commitments.

Devonte Abron is done. Florida International and North Texas made a run at him, but the Arkansas Razorbacks added to the Hogs Haul. The 6-foot-7 combo forward out of Dallas (Tex.) Seagoville, committed to John Pelphrey Sunday night.

"It figured that was the best fit for me," Abron said. "I felt real comfortable around them. It's the best school that fits to me and I fit in with the players."

The Razorbacks frontcourt and backcourt has been retooled. Hunter Mickelson is on board as is Aaron Ross and Abron. B.J. Young and Rashad Madden comprise the new backcourt and it's an impressive bunch.

Abron was taken by the Arkansas' staffs honest approach. He always knew where he stood with them. "They didn't sugarcoat nothing. They were being honest with me. They gave me the bad information and the good information. They told me that I had to work if I wanted it. Arkansas told me what I had to do and what it takes."

This season, it's a pitch that worked with Abron and a host of other talented prospects.
