Wright Draws Big Time Attention

Josh Wright, a junior guard, saw his season end a little prematurely. However, Wright's 2003 efforts did nothing but boost the level of his recruitment.

Big East Schools Show Much Interest

Utica (NY) Proctor point guard Josh Wright averaged 25 points, 8 assists and 3 steals this past season. "I took a bigger role this year," Wright said. "I knew I had to step up. I took a lot of control."

The Long Island Panthers guard said that he's hearing from dozens of schools and can't even begin to read all of his mail. Wright said he doesn't really have a good list of schools now, but we pressed him and he said that Pittsburgh, Syracuse, Seton Hall, St. John's, South Florida, Boston College and Connecticut seem to be on him the hardest.

Wright didn't take many unofficial visits this year but he did see at least four Syracuse games, mainly because the Orangemen are right in his backyard. As for school preferences and a leader? Well, it's just not time for that.

However, there is a team he really enjoys watching. "I'd say that I like to watch UConn the most because I like their style of play. I like Ben Gordon."

Wright said he'll probably release a top five or 10 by ABCD Camp in July.
