"Me and my family sat down and we felt like it was the best decision for me," Daniels told Scout.com. "Coach Haith is a good man and a good coach. He knows what it takes to get to the next level."
"I wanted to go somewhere where I'd be pushed and work hard and maybe make it to the next level and get better as a player," he added.
Daniels, a three-star prospect, said he's relieved to have the decision out of the way.
"All of this is off my back," Daniels said. "It'll be nice to relax and enjoy my senior season."
Daniels is Miami's first verbal commitment for the 2011 class.
