Decision Coming Soon For Cook

Quinn Cook is closing in on a decision. He'll take an official to Duke this coming weekend and follow it up with a trip to Villanova.

Quinn Cook is getting closer and closer to announcing his college decision.

In fact the five-star point guard will take his final two visits over the next two weekends and then a decision could come shortly after.

"I'm definitely deciding in the fall," Cook told "I'm going to sign in November."

Two weeks ago Cook, a 6-foot, 155-pound lead guard, took a trip to Los Angeles (Calif.) to visit Ben Howland's UCLA program.

"It was cool," Cook said. "I had fun. I was out there with Adonis Thomas. It was a lot of fun."

Cook will now visit Duke. He's been there a few times unofficially, but he'll take his official there this coming weekend for their midnight madness festivities. Per Cook, Mike Krzyzewski has played a big role in his recruitment.

"Coach K is a great coach," Cook said. "I just learned so much just from having a phone conversation with him. He said he doesn't really go out and recruit people unless he really wants him and you have to be a special player."

"To hear that from a legend really caught my attention and we established a relationship," he added. "He's a great guy. Nolan [Smith] has told me a lot about him. I've seen the relationships he has with his players and it's impressive coming from a legendary coach."

Cook and Smith's relationship has been well documented. They were apart of the same AAU program and Cook considers him an older brother. With that said, Smith hasn't put any pressure on him.

"With Duke he doesn't talk to me about Duke because it's my decision," Cook said. "He just gives me advice about the process. He never says you're the next Devil, he just tells me to take my time and make the best decision for me."

Following the Duke visit, Cook said he would take a trip to Villanova the weekend of October 22nd.

"That was one of the first schools to recruit me," he said. "I've known coach Wright since my freshman year of high school and we just have a great relationship. It's a guard school and a great program and they play in a great conference."

Cook also said that Kansas was involved with his recruitment, however at this point he doesn't have a trip set up to see their school.

"Our season starts October 29th, so it'll be hard, but we'll see," Cook said.

Cook, who transferred from Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha to Mouth of Wilson (Va.) Oak Hill for his senior season, is currently ranked No. 20 overall in the 2011 rankings.
