Dinwiddie Considering Five Schools

Spencer Dinwiddie, a versatile prospect from Southern California, is in the midst of taking his official visits...

Spencer Dinwiddie, 6-4 SR PG/SG Woodland Hills (Calif.) Taft, is one of the top prospects in the west and he has a chance to play both guard spots at the next level. A very accurate shooter, Dinwiddie has grown several inches in the last couple years and he's still maturing physically. An unselfish player with an excellent feel for the game, Dinwiddie makes very good decisions with the ball. He has a point guard's feel for the game, but the size to eventually defend the two.

I spoke with Dinwiddie recently and asked him about the schools that he has visited so far.

"I went to Harvard and it was really good," said Dinwiddie. "I enjoyed being around the guys, it was a great time."

Dinwiddie recently returned from a trip to Oregon and he talked a little about that visit.

"I went there when they were playing Stanford in football and it was crazy," said Dinwiddie. "I liked the staff there and the players were real cool. They're losing some guys and talking about bringing in a big class."

Next up for Dinwiddie are trips to Colorado and UNLV.

"I leave for Colorado on Thursday," said Dinwiddie. "And then I go to UNLV on October 29th."

Local school UCLA has also been monitoring Dinwiddie and he said he met recently with Coach Ben Howland.

"Coach Howland came in for an in-home visit last Tuesday," said Dinwiddie. "It went really well. He's also coming to my school on Wednesday and I think we're going to talk about an official visit soon."

Dinwiddie said he plans on signing in November.
