Zollo Will Stay Close To Home

Vinny Zollo has to a decision on Monday. The talented big man is off the board and headed to Bowling Green (Ky.).

Ken McDonald's roll continued on Monday.

After scoring commitments from Nigel Snipes, Cezar Guerrero and George Fant last week, McDonald and his staff at Western Kentucky picked up a verbal pledge from Vinny Zollo.

A pair of sources confirmed the news.

Zollo, a 6-foot-8, 220-pound power forward, orginally committed to Kentucky as a sophomore, but when Billy Gillispie left the Wildcats, Zollo opened up his recruitment.

A standout at Winchester (Ky.) George Rogers Clark, Zollo brings a different wrinkle to the Hilltoppers recruiting class. Zollo plays with a strong motor, but also can step out and knock down jumpers to 21-feet.

WKU's recruiting class is likely the best mid-major recruiting class of the year. To go with Snipes, Guerrero, Fant and Zollo, they also hold a commitment from 7-foot center Deng Leek.
