49ers Still In The Driver's Seat With Grier

Vincent Grier sounds like a guy who knows what he wants to do. He says Charlotte is his leader and the recruiting process could end sometime in July. The Charlotte native is set to attend ABCD Camp.

49ers Looking Strong

On Wednesday, Rodney White is going to among the first five selections in the NBA draft. Sure, he left a tremendous void in the 49ers frontcourt, but you can expect Bobby Lutz to get a lot of mileage out of his being selected early in the first round.

In fact, White has commented in the past about how Charlotte's style of play significantly benefited him. SG Vincent Grier of Raleigh (NC) Bonner Academy has taken notice. "I just like them because they play a fast-paced game," Grier said. "They don't have real positions, they just play; get it off the board and run."

Grier says that Charlotte leads a number of schools and he's receiving interest from Clemson, Vanderbilt, Wake Forest, South Carolina, UConn and Florida State.

"I'm going to wait until after ABCD and then I'll make my announcement. More than likely it will happen in July.

If things don't work out, he's open to taking some visits. But, as it stands now, more than likely Charlotte is the destination. Stay tuned.
