Chandler Gives Verbal Pledge

Indiana native Michael Chandler made his college choice Sunday morning. He'll play two hours from home at Xavier.

What a weekend for Chris Mack and his staff.

Just a day after 2012 combo guard D'Vauntes Smith-Rivera committed to Xavier, Michael Chandler, a 2011 top 100 prospect, gave Mack a verbal pledge.

"I felt as though they had the perfect program for me to be successful as a person and to get better as a player and it's close to home," Chandler told Scout.com

Chandler, a standout at Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence North, is a four-star prospect and rated No. 8 at the center spot. He's ranked No. 67 in the class.

As a sophomore Chandler, a 6-foot-10, 250-pound post prospect, committed to Louisville. In the spring he decommitted and considered Providence, DePaul, West Virginia and Indiana prior to picking Xavier.

Chandler is Xavier's fourth 2011 commitment. To go with Chandler, Xavier has top 50 prospect Dezmine Wells and three-star prospects Dee Davis and Jaylen Reynolds.
