Space Cancels Trip, Makes Decision

Antwan Space was set to visit an ACC school this weekend. Instead he decided to make his college choice.

Antwan Space was supposed to visit Maryland this weekend. Instead of taking that trip the 6-foot-8 hybrid forward made a verbal commitment.

Space, a standout at DeSoto (Tex.) High, pledged to Leonard Hamilton and the Florida State Seminoles late Saturday night.

"I love the players, coaching staff, program, atmosphere and I feel they put me in the best position to get to where I want to be," Space told Scout.com.

During July, Space emerged as high major prospect and played his way into Scout.com's top 100. A versatile wing, Space shoots the ball well from three, is a willing rebounder and is a solid athlete.

Florida State now has four 2011 verbal commitment. Space joins four-star prospects Aaron Thomas and Terry Whisnant, as well as JUCO product Kiel Turpin.

Space is currently rated No. 76 overall and No. 17 at the small forward position.
