Soph SF Bryan Harvey

Bryan Harvey, 6-5 SO SF Carson (Calif.) High, was somewhat overshadowed by teammate Ekene Ebekwe this past season, but Harvey will be the main man at Carson for the next two seasons. And we won't be surprised if Harvey's recruitment ends up being every bit as intense, and high profile, as Ebekwe's was this past year.

Harvey is well put together at 6-5 and he gets up easy. You wouldn't call him quick, but he moves well enough and he has a nice first step. He is a very good shooter with three-point range. He's a surprisingly good passer. Very good feel for the game and plays unselfishly, especially for someone with his ability.

We spoke with Harvey recently and asked if there were any schools he particularly liked when he was younger. "Kentucky," said Harvey. "I grew up watching them and I've always liked them for some reason."

When we asked if any one school, in particular, had been showing a lot of early interest, Harvey replied, "UNLV -- I've been hearing the most from them."

Harvey also mentioned USC and Arizona as two schools that he likes early in the process.

We asked if he had any thoughts on how he would make his decision and Harvey said, "The level of competition will be important -- I want to play at the best level of competition. Ideally, I'd also like to go farther away from home."

Harvey doesn't anticipate an early decision. "I'll probably wait until after the summer before my senior year," said Harvey. "I'll talk with my brother Tony (a former player at Utah) -- he'll be a big factor in my decision."
