Wilson Pops Just Prior to Signing Day

Derrick Wilson, a three-star lead guard, made his college choice. He'll play in the Big East.

Buzz Williams and his staff scored their second 2011 recruit late Monday.

According to a source, Derrick Wilson, a 6-foot-1 guard out of Lakeville (Conn.) Hotchkiss School, picked the Golden Eagles over strong interest from a handful of schools including DePaul, Oklahoma, Georgia Tech and others.

During the spring and summer Wilson ran with the New York Guachos. While he's classified as a point guard, Wilson is a terrific scorer that uses his strong frame to get to the rim, but also has an impressive jumper from long range.

Wilson is Marquette's second three-star commitment in the 2011 class. Wilson joins California native Juan Anderson.
