The commitment of Chandler came as a surprise to many when he did so after a visit to Xavier for their midnight madness festivities. The Musketeers had only recently begun to recruit the former Louisville commitment, but an impressive visit got his commitment.
For weeks it seemed the commitment was solid, but that proved not to be the case. A big push from the Connecticut Huskies put the Big East school in the center of this recruitment.
After going back and forth, Chandler decided not to sign on Wednesday with any school. Once that news reached the masses several schools began calling on Chandler, but at this point the strong word is that the Huskies are in the driver's seat of this recruitment.
Connecticut already has a commitment from Chandler's friend and AAU teammate Ryan Boatright. In the past the two talked about playing on the same team in college. For a while it seemed like that wouldn't happen once Boatright committed to West Virginia and Chandler to Xavier, but now times have changed.
Boatright is the No. 85 player in the nation while Chandler checks in as the No. 67 player.
At the moment Chandler remains unsigned, and has given no indication if he intends to put a pen to paper during the early signing period.
