Rankings: Rising Senior Centers

In a fairly down year for centers on the west coast, a few players have emerged with some potential for getting some significant recruiting attention...

There are probably less D-1-level big men in the rising senior class than in any year in recent memory in our pre-summer rankings. This could lead to many players getting some recruiting attention from a higher level of school than they would have, say, if they were part of last year's class.

DeAngelo Collins is easily the most purely talented and athletic big man on the west coast. If he can play hard all the time, improve his image and be a good citizen, his potential is limitless. Steven Cobbley has shown this spring that he has probably the next best combination of size and skills. Chris Ayer is a sleeper, and one of the best in the west in a down year. Moulaye Niang might have the most upside among anyone on this list. Kevin Field combines size with good skills. Brian Hutt, Thomas Shewmake and Matt Haryaszare three that could emerge from the summer with some pretty big names recruiting them. Martin Iti would be #2 on this list, but to our knowledge, he has used his high school eligibility and it's a question whether he'll ever play college ball.
