So Kareem Canty's moved to the class may be a good one. There's opportunity in the 2012 class and Canty, a 6-foot, 175-pounder, appears to be taking advantage of it.
"I think [the move] will be better for my recruitment and I think it will help me get better," Canty said about switching classes.
On Friday at the National Prep Showcase, Canty,of North Bridgton (Maine) Academy, had the look of a possible top 10 lead guard in his new class. He scored 23 points and tossed out four assists.
"I'm a combo guard," Canty told Scout.com following his game. "I can score when I have to, but I get my teammates involved. I play with a chip on my shoulder. I'm just trying to get better everyday."
Since making the move to 2012, Canty said his recruitment has picked up.
"It's been well," the former I've picked up some interest from some bigger schools and it's just been better for me.
When asked about a possible decision Canty, said, "I don't know yet. But I think in April I'll make my decision."
Canty said Alabama is among the schools coming after him the hardest and he already has a trip planned for Tuscaloosa on March 6th.
