Hawaii PG Draws Interest
Derrick Low, 6-0 JR PG Honolulu (Hawaii) Iolani, told us yesterday that he's hearing from a few programs on the mainland. "Kansas, Utah, Gonzaga...they've all been calling," said Low. "Roy Williams called a couple weeks ago. He said they would be watching closely to see how I did at Nike and in Las Vegas in the summer." Low went on to say, "I've also been hearing from the coaches at Utah and Gonzaga." We asked Low if he had given any more thought to staying home, and playing at Hawaii, or if he'd prefer to head to the mainland. Low replied, "Hawaii will always be an option, but I really want to go to the mainland where there is more exposure and players." Low said he'll let the process play out before making a decision. "I want to wait until after the summer -- after all the coaches have had a chance to see me, because you never know what might happen."
