Daniels May Enroll Soon, Won't Play This Year

DeAndre Daniels, who currently attends Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy, is closing in on making his college choice. Who are the front runners?

DeAndre Daniels' recruitment is heating up.

The four-star prospect took recent official visits to Kansas and Kentucky. Next up, according to his AAU coach Dinos Trigonis, is Texas.

"He had a nice visit to Kentucky," Trigonis said. "He is planning on visit Texas in the next seven to ten days. He's not going to enroll at Kentucky or anywhere else with the purpose of playing this year."

Florida, UCLA, Baylor and Alabama are also involved in Daniels' recruitment. But Trigonis thinks there are three schools starting to stick out.

"The kid and the dad will make the decision," Trigonis told Scout.com. "My gut feeling is that the three leaders are Kansas, Texas and Kentucky. That's my gut feeling."

Trigonis also cleared up some information regarding Daniels.

"DeAndre Daniels will not suit up in a college uniform this year," he said. "That's not happening. Wherever he goes he's going to go there during the break, get acclimated with the team and play next year."

"That's their plan," Trigonis reiterated. "He's not playing this year."

Daniels is ranked No. 35 overall in Scout.com's 2011 top 100.
