Recruiting On Hold For Chandler

High majors are tracking four-star prospect Michael Chandler, but his plan is to wait until the season ends before he jumps into the recruiting process.

ichael Chandler is one of six prospects still available in's 2011 top 100.

So it's not surprising that a number of schools are trying to get involved for his services. A former Louisville and Xavier commit, Chandler, a 6-foot-10, 245-pound center, said this time around he's put the recruiting process on hold.

"To be honest, I'm not really paying attention to the recruiting," Chandler told "I'm just focused on the schools season. I'll start paying attention to it after the school season."

Chandler said there were a host of schools recruiting him, but that St. John's, Oregon, Connecticut, Indiana and Kentucky were the ones he listed.

"There are a lot of schools that keep coming into the picture, so I just want to make sure I make the right decision," he said.

While playing in the Racing to the Rim Showcase this past weekend, Chandler slid over to Rupp Arena to take in the Kentucky/Indiana game. He said it wasn't really an unofficial visit, as he just went with his high school team.

At this point, Chandler, a standout at Indianapolis (Ind.) Lawrence North, said he doesn't have any visits set up.

"I'm sure I'll take some, but I don't know here I'm going to take them too," Chandler said.

Chandler, who is ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 84 prospect in the 2011 class, said his plan is to wait until his season is over before making a college decision.

"It's going to happen more than likely after the season."
