Reinhardt Scores 25, Talks Recruiting

FORT MYERS, Fla. -- Katin Reinhardt led Santa Ana (Calif.) Mater Dei to a first round win with his 25-point outing.

It didn't take Katin Reinhardt long to get things going at the City of Palms.

In the first quarter alone he pumped in four three-pointers and a pull-up 18-footer. Mater Dei ended up pulling off a 62-58 win over Orlando Christian Prep and Reinhardt was a big part of the win.

"I was just trusting my teammates to get me open," the 6-foot-5 guard told after the game. "Every time I had an open shot I just shot the ball and it went in."

Reinhardt, a junior, finished 8-for-13 from the field and scored 25 points in the opening round win.

"Shooting the ball well, passing it well and playing defense," he said when asked to describe his game. "I think I could get a lot more rebounds, but I thought I played pretty well today."

Reinhardt already holds scholarship offers from Utah and Colorado. He said he expects USC to offer him in the near future.

"It's going really well," he said of the recruiting process. "I don't know what I'm doing yet. I'm thankful to be recruited by all these schools."

Reinhardt, who has taken unofficial visits to UCLA and USC, said to go with his two offers, he's hearing from the entire PAC-10, Syracuse, Notre Dame and Villanova.
