On January 1st Mike Krzyzewski threw a scholarship offer Sulaimon's way. Then a day later Roy Williams and North Carolina also tossed out an offer.
"I got a new scholarship offer from Duke," Sulaimon confirmed.
"I've been talking to my coach and he told me North Carolina offered," he added.
"I'm just really excited right now," Sulaimon told Scout.com. "I'm looking at both of those schools with strong interest and I'm really excited that they both have extended an offer."
Sulaimon has already taken a trip to Duke's campus and he's developed a strong grasp of what they have to offer. He pointed out the fan base as well as their style of play as reasons he's considering the Blue Devils.
"I like Duke a lot," he said. "The fan base is crazy. The school is really nice. It's kind of a small school."
"Coach K is a really good guy and a great coach. I like the way they play. They play hard every possession and they practice hard. I just really, really like everything about Duke."
With Carolina, Sulaimon knew they were coming to see him late in December. Then on Sunday his high school coach at Houston (Tex.) Strake Jesuit received a phone call from Williams formally extending the offer.
"With Carolina, I haven't visited there, but from what I see on TV I like their style of play and how they get up and down," he said.
"They really let their guards play," he added about UNC. "I really like Roy Williams a lot and he's a great guy. I haven't really been there, so I can't say anything about the campus."
Sulaimon, a five-star prospect, is hoping to make it to Durham or Chapel Hill for a game in the near future.
"I've been thinking about going to one of the Duke/Carolina games."
Sulaimon is ranked No. 19 overall in the 2012 class.
