A physically imposing post prospect, James checks in at 6-foot-10, 280-pounds and he's not your normal big man. In this day and age, bigs want to step away from the basket, but not James. He knows where his bread is buttered.
"I'm a post player," James told Scout.com. "I'm a big man. My game is basically like a power, back to the basket game. But I can get out and run if I need to. I can run the floor."
Since he emerged playing with the Florida Rams last spring, James has made drastic improvements to his game. He moves up and down the floor better and has started to develop scoring moves on the block.
"I've been in the gym and around people that are trying to get me better," James said. "They are trying to develop me to be a better player."
"It's still really early," he said of the recruiting process. "Everything is still up in the air."
At this point, James doesn't have any unofficial visits scheduled, but he has taken visits to a handful of schools.
"I took a couple of unofficials to Miami to see them play," he said. "I've been to Central Florida and I've been to Florida for basketball camp."
James, who is currently rated as a three-star prospect, will be upgraded to a member of the 2012 top 75 when the rankings are next released.
