2013 Intro: Will Ferguson

Point guard already has one offer and several other high profile schools showing him significant attention.

Being a point guard hailing from Arlington (VA) Bishop O'Connell High School isn't easy. Current North Carolina floor general Kendall Marshall starred at that position for four years at the school, but now Will Ferguson is taking over. For the class of 2013 standout it is just business as usual.

So far this season O'Connell is off to a strong start, and Ferguson is a big reason for their success despite heavy losses due to graduation. The 6-foot-1 floor general is one of the better point guards in the region with his combination of length and quickness.

"It is going good," said Ferguson of the season. "We are getting better every day in practice and we are all working hard. I think I improved on getting my teammates involved more and little stuff like taking charges. Also my jump shot is a lot better."

Replacing Marshall hasn't been easy, but Ferguson says that he is up to the challenge of making everyone around him better.

"It was kind of hard at first, but I have been getting better and becoming a better leader on and off the court," said Ferguson of filling Marshall's shoes.

For now on the recruiting trail Ferguson has a lone offer from Xavier. Along with that offer he has picked up early interest from Villanova, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Florida.

According to Ferguson it is an honor to be hearing from some top programs so early in the recruiting process.

"It is a big achievement because a lot of kids don't get scholarships this early," said Ferguson of the early interest on the recruiting trail.

Currently Ferguson isn't close to making a decision, but the floor general does know what he will be looking for when the time does come for him to narrow down his school list.

"Definitely I pay attention to the academics," said Ferguson. "Also I look at style of play and how the coaches coach."
