Spotlight: Gerry Corcoran

Gerry Corcoran was the man last weekend for Leo Papile's BABC team. Corcoran helped guide BABC into the semifinals.

Shooter Has A Great Run

College basketball teams, and rightfully so, place a high premium on guys that can stroke it. Gerry Corcoran can flat out stroke it.

The 6-5 marksman from the BABC AAU team had himself quite a weekend at the Boo Williams Invitational. His long-range efforts rallied BABC enough to get to the semifinals of the tournament where they lost to eventual champion Riverside in overtime.

In the first half of the Riverside game, Corcoran clearly had tired legs, the worst feeling for a shooter. Then, things started clicking for him in the second half and BABC rode his hot hand into the overtime session before falling.

At the event, Corcoran listed Boston University, Providence and Holy Cross among his three favorite schools. Interest in him is sure to take off once word gets around that a shooter with size is to be had in the Class of 2004.
