Maryland Lands Anderson

Maryland lands four-star small forward Justin Anderson as expected on Thursday.

The first day of the NCAA Tournament is the equivalent to Christmas in the college basketball world, but Justin Anderson decided to make it a working holiday. The four-star small forward went ahead and made his commitment, selecting the Maryland Terrapins.

Anderson, who attends Rockville (MD) Montrose Christian confirmed his commitment to Maryland via text message with by simply stating, "Maryland it is".

The 6-foot-6 and 200 pound athlete is the No. 32 prospect overall and the No. 6 small forward in the nation, and now his game is headed to the ACC. Anderson selected the Terrapins over interest from Virginia, North Carolina, Duke, Villanova, Georgetown, and Washington.

In the end Anderson narrowed his list down to Maryland, Virginia, and North Carolina, but the Tar Heels hadn't offered, meaning the Terps got the victory over conference rival Virginia for the highly touted Anderson.

Anderson is the first commitment for the Terrapins in the 2012 class. Maryland looks to be able to add at least two more prospects into the equation in the class to complement Anderson who is one of the premier athletes and defenders in the entire nation.
