Ware seeks release

Another guard is about to hit the market, as Kevin Ware, a top 25 ranked guard, is seeking a release from Tennessee.

With the coaching changes upon us, a number of signed prospects will likely look to be released from their Letters of Intent.

Kevin Ware, who signed with Tennessee in November, confirmed with Scout.com that he is seeking a release, after Bruce Pearl and Tennessee parted ways on Monday.

"I'm planning to be released," Ware told Scout.com.

Ware, a 6-foot-4, 170-pound combo guard out of Conyers (Ga.) Rockdale County, said he has already talked to Tennessee and has applied for a release.

"They said UT received it already," Ware said. "Yesterday morning around 11 o'clock."

A four-star guard, Ware said he hasn't been given a timetable on when he would be released, but he's hoping it happens soon.

"No idea," he said. "Hopefully today being they already have it."

When he receives his release, he'll become a major target, as he'll be one of the best available guards in the 2011 class.

Ware committed to Tennessee in November of 2009.
