The main attraction for the Phenoms is Devonta Pollard. The 6-foot-7 combo forward rallied his team to a big win in the tournament's opening game scoring 22 of his team high 25 points in the second half.
"I play the four position, but I can go out and play on the outside as well," said Pollard of his game. "If I have a small man on me I can post up and if I have a big man on me I can drive past him."
The nation's No. 54 ranked prospect looks even better than he did last summer and his improvement has come with his outside shot. Pollard says he had a strong high school year to get him prepared for the AAU circuit.
"I had a good high school year," explained Pollard. "We went to state but we lost in the semi-finals."
When it comes to his recruitment, there are numerous schools trying to seriously get in the door with him.
"It's been about the same," explained Pollard of his recruiting. "A lot of the SEC like Alabama, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, LSU, and also I am hearing from Georgetown a lot. It is mostly SEC teams though."
Pollard says that he didn't make any unofficial visits during the school year, but he is hoping to take some this summer, though they have yet to be set up, and he doesn't know which schools he will see.
Until that happens Pollard will remain open in his recruitment simply seeing who wants to track the no doubt high-major forward.
