Nolte goes with Virginia

Evan Nolte has come to a college decision. confirmed the news Friday afternoon.

The rumors that Evan Nolte was nearing a college decision have been circulating.

On Friday the rumors were put to rest as the Alpharetta (Ga.) Milton standout gave a verbal commitment to Tony Bennett and his staff at Virginia.

Nolte's coach from the Southern Kings program Morris Gordon confirmed the news to

"Evan is a unique player with a unique skill set and coach Bennett and his staff will hlep take his game to another level," Gordon said.

Nolte picked Virginia over strong interest from Clemson, Stanford and Georgia Tech.

A 6-foot-7, 200-pound combo forward, Nolte is known for his ability to shoot the basketball from long range.

Nolte, a four-star prospect, ranks No. 69 in the class of 2012.
