Shrigley Picking Up Offers

Matt Shrigley, a gifted shooter from San Diego, gives us the latest on his recruitment...

Matt Shrigley, 6-5 JR SF Encinitas (Calif.) La Costa Canyon, is one of the better shooters in the west for 2012. He's got very good range beyond the stripe and he's got a solid feel for the game.

We spoke with Shrigley recently and asked him about the schools that have been expressing interest in him to date.

"I'm hearing from San Diego State, Oregon State, Oregon, Boston College, Washington State, San Francisco, San Diego, St. Mary's and Colorado," said Shrigley. "All those schools have offered."

Shrigley said Oregon State, St. Mary's and Colorado have been out recently to his school to watch him work out.

Shrigley has taken an unofficial visit to San Diego State and I asked him for his thoughts on the visit.

"It was really nice," said Shrigley. "I have a great relationship with the coaches there and its home."

I asked Shrigley what he is looking for in a school.

"I'd like to make an impact early," said Shrigley. "I'd like to get in there and absorb stuff from the other players. The location isn't really a big deal. It would be nice to stay out west, but it's not a big issue."

Shrigley has an idea for when he'd like to reach his decision.

"I want to commit before my senior season," said Shrigley.

When asked if he has any schools in mind for visits, Shrigley replied "probably Oregon, Oregon State, Boston College and Colorado."

Shrigley said he currently has a 2.8 GPA.
