Webster-Chan opens up recruitment

Negus Webster-Chan, a four-star prospect out of Huntington (W.V.) Prep by way of Canada, has decided to reopen his recruitment.

A top 50 prospect is back on the board.

Negus Webster-Chan, of Huntington (W.V.) Prep, opted to reopen his recruitment on Tuesday. The 6-foot-6 wing originally committed to Louisville in late December.

Huntington Prep coach Rob Fulford confirmed the news with Scout.com

"After detailed conversations with his family, Negus Webster-Chan has decided to open up his recruitment," Fulford said. "This was a very difficult decision for him to make. But at this time Negus and his family feel this is in his best interest.

"He will fully go through the recruiting process and take all five official visits next year," he added. "His timetable will probably be next spring, so he has time to make the right decision and coaching changes have been made at that point."

One of the more skilled wing prospects in the 2012, Webster-Chan built his reputation playing for Mike George and Team Takeover/CIA Bounce. Then he transferred to Huntington Prep this past year.

Webster-Chan is currently rated as a four-star prospect and ranks as the No. 45 prospect in the 2012 class.
