Hicks shows big improvements

Isaiah Hicks is proving to be one of the elite players in the class of 2013, and one ACC school sticks out already at this early stage in his recruitment.

Always Isaiah Hicks has been seen as a very intriguing prospect. Now he is turning himself from prospect to producer. The 6-foot-8 power forward is off to an excellent start this spring, and is showing the signs of improvement that many have been looking for and expecting from such a talented prospect.

With his length, athleticism, and strong frame, Hicks has always been able to dominate on the defensive end of the floor. Now the class of 2013 prospect is showing more signs of life on the offensive end, and that led to a strong high school year and an excellent start to the travel circuit.

"It was a good year," Hicks explained. "I was on a pretty good team, and now I am working on my offensive game. Basically I was just playing good defense and then scoring on put backs and stuff like that, but I am improving."

For Hicks he says it comes down to working every day in the gym to get better.

"I am just practicing every day and putting up shots every day," said Hicks. "I finally have a jump shot now. I'm just trying to work as hard as I can."

When it comes to recruiting, Hicks is expecting some schools to come by and watch him workout in the very near future.

"Virginia Tech, Xavier, Clemson, and NC State are supposed to come to my workouts this upcoming week," Hicks explained. "Also I am hearing from UNC."

Though the Tar Heels haven't offered Hicks a scholarship yet, he admits that they are the school that stands out the most to him right now.

"I think North Carolina sticks out," Hicks said. "I grew up a fan of theirs and have always wanted to go there."

For now Hicks is taking it all in on the recruiting trail and is in no hurry to make any kind of decision. He plans on seeing what all comes his way before coming up with a final decision on where to attend college.
