Carter makes decision, joins big class

Mike Rice added another prospect to his 2011 recruiting class. This time around they picked up combo guard Elijah Carter.

Rutgers picked up their seventh verbal commitment on Friday.

The talented 6-foot-2 combo guard gave Mike Rice and his staff the word Friday evening. He confirmed the news

"I felt comfortable with the whole coaching staff," Carter said. "I didn't know coach [David] Cox, but then I met him and he was real cool and a nice guy."

"The opportunity to play is there," he added. "I just have to work hard and earn my spot It's pretty much like playing in my home state."

Carter said his decision ultimately came down to TCU, Missouri and Virginia Tech.

To go with Carter, the Scarlet Knights will also bring in Kadeem Jackson, Myles Mack, Jerome Seagears, Greg Lewis, Malick Kone and Derrick Randall.
