Christon ready to breakout

Now that he is a member of the 2012 class, Semaj Christon will be a hot commodity. Already one Big East school has a big head start.

As a senior and a member of the 2011 class, Semaj Christon made unbelievable strides in his game However now Christon is off to prep school and will be a member of the 2012 class With that he adds a high level talent at the lead guard position to a class that desperately needed one

During the high school season Christon averaged 19 8 points, 5 2 assists, and 4 9 rebounds per game while leading his team to a 20-4 record The strong campaign drew a lot of attention, and put Christon into the spotlight

"It has been fun, it has been real fun," said Christon of the increased attention "I have liked it a lot It gets tough and I can get tired of talking to everybody, so they talk to my mom a lot "

Many schools dropped by to see Christon during the year, but so far one school has put forth the most energy recruiting him

"Georgetown is the main school recruiting me," Christon explained "I like their coaching staff and how they play Their style of play interests me a lot "

Outside of the Hoyas, Christon is also getting significant interest from West Virginia, Providence, and Iowa

That attention should only increase now that Christon is going to spend a year at prep school According to Christon the decision to go prep wasn't a difficult one

"It wasn't that hard of a decision," said Christon "Me and my mom really thought it was the best I think it will really help my game "

With good size, great speed baseline to baseline, and superior floor vision, Christon brings a lot to the table as a point guard He is sure to have significant options, and when it comes down to picking a school he knows what he will be looking for

"I am looking for somewhere that I can come in and play right away," said Christon "Also I want to go somewhere where I can get a good education "

For now Christon is running on the AAU circuit with the Cincinnati Knights, and will decide on which prep school to attend in the near future
